The First Session
Beginning therapy is a meaningful step, and it's normal to feel a mix of emotions before your first appointment. My goal is to create a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental space where you can share at your own pace.
During our first session, we'll spend time getting to know one another. I'll ask questions about what brings you to therapy, your current concerns, your personal history, and what you hope to gain from our work together. This conversation helps me better understand your experiences and allows us to begin developing a treatment plan that is tailored to your unique needs and goals.
There is no pressure to tell your entire story in one session. You are welcome to share only what feels comfortable. Therapy is a collaborative process, and we will move at a pace that feels right for you.
You'll also have the opportunity to ask questions about my approach, discuss confidentiality, and learn what future sessions may look like. Together, we'll identify areas of focus and begin building a therapeutic relationship based on trust, respect, and compassion.
The first session is about creating a foundation. My hope is that you leave feeling heard, understood, and confident that you have a partner to support you on your journey toward healing and personal growth.
